Do dogs get jealous?

They say a picture speaks a thousand words. Well, here are 4000 words taken in a single camera shot (time burst shift mode) that certainly speaks volumes about how a certain young fella' reacts when he has to share 'his human being' with other dogs.

Let me know what you think.

  1. Oh yes, the pics are speaking a lot! Snoopy is certainly not liking the attention Victor is getting! I am smiling at the third pic, how Victor is giving a side glance as if trying to gauge Snoopy's reaction. And yes, jealousy is written all over these pics! What amazing captures, Roshan :)

  2. Oh, I KNOW dogs get jealous, I see it every time I'm around my sister's dogs. It's crazy how human like dogs actually are. I notice they do a lot of the same things, have the same faces as children as well. - Great photos. :)

  3. Oh they do! My brother had a dachshund and the got a beagle last year. They've finally settled for a very fragile peace. Pet one and the other will land in a second to push him off and get his share of petting! Snoopy and Victor's expressions say it all!

Oh my.God! Just one look at Snoopy, and you will know what's going on in his mind! Look at the daggers drawn by those eyes, doc! "Do I have put it in words now? He is mine. MINE! Go find someone else for yourself! " says Snoopy..or rather, say Snoopy's eyes! Right doc? 😀

It's true. Pets have a feeling and one can see the jealousy in such a cute way. My cap would be. 'You took my love, mate and now you wait.'

Oh yes, Dr. Roshan Radhakrishnan. I have a two year old Dachshund, Leo who is very jealous when I cuddles or kisses my niece, Bhamathy. He would bite on her feet. You would have to see his triumphant look after she is chased away upstairs. Two days back my BIL was chased away by Leo from my mom's bedroom as he tried to sleep there for convenience in her absence.

  9. Hehe.. It does feel that way with him sometimes.

  10. I think both the breeds you mentioned are pretty competitive when it comes to getting affection :)

  11. One of Snoopy and Victors predecessors was named Leo but he was a lot more tolerant than your little friend I guess :)

  12. Haha... The irony is that Victor is three times his size! And yet, Snoopy chases him around.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Exactly. You really can read the expression on their faces most of the time :)

  14. Victor is actually thrice his size yet he allows Snoopy to boss over him. Its a hilarious friendship... As long as it doesn't involve sharing affection, Snoopy doesn't have any problems

Hahaha! There's so much these pics are saying ;) The saying that a pic can say a 1000 words is so true in this case :P.

  20. They are incapable of hiding their emotions... thats probably where they differ the most from us. And that's why they are a treat - whether they are jealous or sad or ecstatic, you know it instantly.
