How big a deal is your horoscope to you ?

That's it really. No wild rant as usual.. I just want to know how much importance you/your family give to your birth horoscope. Does it affect your life - in choosing the hubby, the bad times and good times etc ?

Let me know what you think.

  1. My life and the horoscope go tangential.. Actually I guess am not so truthful here. The fact is I wouldnt ever go to an astrologer, but if someone does go and tell me something bad, even though I believe its not true, somewhere in the back of my mind, it keeps popping up.

Our parents dint try to match our horoscopes, for obvious reasons, so we dint have to spend money bribing the astrologer there.

  2. me, NOT AT ALL! parents - a bit. As for my sister they had to go through the horoscope thing when she was getting married bcuz my bro-in-laws's family insisted. but my parents can easily live without it... so can i. For career studies and all that horoscope has never even occurred to our mind!

  3. My uncle does some astrology..and my parents do not stand clear on it..they refer to the horoscopes from time to time. But still my mom insists that it's finally one's karma that decides one's fate.Supposedly I'm going through a good phase of my life and since my good phase has started I had to bear a lot of physical n mental pain..N these days they don't match the horoscopes before marriage unless it's an arranged one.So u can say, they play the convenience card..

  4. Doesnt affect my immediate family (me and my husband) much.. however, it does affect our parents..

I personally dont have much knowledge on horoscopes, astrology to comment on the same.

You havent given your comments on the same .

  5. Veena, most of my life decisions have been in some way or the other linked to my horoscope. even when tey're 100% wrong, the astros have found ways to convince my family that they're actually right but "other factors weigh in" :)

Sufficed to say, my parents believe in it a lot and while i personally enjoy listening to the new astrologer on tha block predict my future, I'm afraid I dont believe in it.

  7. One question i have been asking all those staunch supporters and believers in horoscopes. Why is it that Indians are the only ones who believe so strongly in horoscopes? If they are celestial, then how come they don't influence/or people in the west dont get affected by them??

  8. Zilch! Nada. Nothing! My mom *thinks* I was born at 1:10pm so she got a "column" drawn when I was about 1. I think they lost it or maybe its there in my dad's almirah safe but I have never seen it. They never even mentioned it during discussions around my wedding. So yeah, that's the answer.

PS: The same set of parents went nuts over my sister's "chovva dosham" 14 years back and got her married at 19 to the first eligible guy who had the same "issue".

How things change in a few years!!
